METRO TECH PUBLIC SAFETY ACADEMY

PSA is a 56,000sf training facility for police, fire fighter, and EMT professionals. The building includes a high bay training area with suspended catwalk so that instructors can observe trainees from above as they navigate mock rooms and corridors below in order to learn effective techniques for safely infiltrating spaces during emergency or life threatening situations; Cadaver Lab for practicing medical procedures; Shooting and Driving simulations for both police and EMT participants; Large vehicular bay area and vast exterior paved surface for first responders vehicular training; As well as two FEMA rated storm shelters, one serving as a faculty breakroom area and the other to be occupied by county sheriff dispatch personnel. This is a $15.8M facility approved as part of the Metro Technology Centers 2019 Student Community Investment Plan Bond Projects for their South Bryant Campus.
