PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project is a whole-building 30,600 SF renovation comprised of offices, a clinic for low-vision customers, a training center for those newly diagnosed with low-vision to learn the skills to help them navigate their daily lives, meeting rooms, a community meeting center and a retail shop. This was an interesting wood framed building, that presented challenges during the demolition/exploration phase. The original building was built with many substandard techniques and failing structural conditions. ADG|Blatt was the design partner, for which we spent a great deal of time assisting the project architect with solutions to the chaos we encountered beneath (what felt like) every single surface in the building. In the end the building transformed into a great facility to house administration, teaching facilities, counseling, and clinical spaces.
